World Bank consultant and lawyer specialized in customs & international trade law admitted to bar since 2003, Danilo Desiderio is a professional with over 20 years of experience in the fields of customs, trade and transport facilitation, international trade, export promotion, internationalization of companies and private sector development. Over the years, Danilo has been working to projects with many donors such as the United Nations, African Development Bank, World Bank, Europe Aid, USAID and GIZ, covering from time to time the roles of Trade and Transport Facilitation expert, Transport and Transit facilitation expert, Customs expert, Customs policy expert, rules of origin expert, Trade Expert, One Stop Border Post (OSBP) legislation specialist and Team Leader. His experience includes the provision of consultancy services for the implementation of transport and trade facilitation measures along development corridors, for the development and operationalization of OSBPs, for organizing efficient customs procedures within dry ports and along road corridors, for aligning national customs and trade legislation and procedures to regional or international agreements, regulation and standards, and developing trade and customs policies at national, regional and continental levels, particularly in Africa. Danilo worked in Algeria, Benin, Comoros, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Madagascar, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal, Seychelles, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Togo and Uganda.
